Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović is a potential target for Manchester City and Manchester United.
That’s according to journalists Christian Falk and Tobias Altschäffl, who have discussed the rumour about Manchester City. SportBILD cover their comments on the Bayern Insider podcast.
While Pavlović is a long-term fixture for Bayern, his development hasn’t gone unnoticed by Europe’s top clubs. The Premier League is particularly keen on the German international.
A report in England this week stated that Manchester City and Manchester United were both admirers. They were put on a list of suitors alongside Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
That’s made it’s way to Germany, where the matter was discussed on Bayern Insider podcast between the two journalists. They said there’s interest in the Premier League, and the Manchester duo had been in touch already.
“There’s not much movement at Juventus Turin and Paris Saint-Germain yet,” Altschäffl explained.
“That’s absolutely true with the English side. It’s known that they approached Pavlović’s side through intermediaries. They would like to sign Pavlović. At City, he’s even higher on the list.
“I’ve noticed recently that he’s getting better and better physically, and he has a commanding touch in his game. His services would be in high demand in England. A move is currently out of the question for him, but he’s a hot prospect for the Premier League in the future.”
The question is whether Pavlović would fancy a move to either Manchester City or Manchester United in future. There’s also no indication Bayern would sell. They have the 21-year-old locked down until 2029 so there’s no pressing need to sell.
For now, it’s simply a case of the interest growing in him and Manchester City and Manchester United being among those who are allegedly keen.
