Leeds United are in the mix to sign LDU Quito goalkeeper Gonzalo Valle.
That’s according to journalist Christian Martin, relayed by Bolavip, and he reports Leeds have set their sights on the 29-year-old.
The Ecuador international is a product of Guayaquil City’s youth system and spent seven years with their first team before moving to LDU Quito in 2024.
Valle has impressed for the Ecuadorian club, keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding 16 goals from 22 games in this calendar year. His performances haven’t gone unnoticed in Europe, where Leeds are an interested party.
According to Martin, Leeds, Fenerbahçe São Paulo and Cruz Azul are showing interest in the stopper.
His contract lasts until December 2028 and Transfermarkt currently value him at €1.8m. The journalist claims LDU Quito value him at $3m [€2.6m] and all his suitors could meet their request. A move to Europe would see the goalkeeper improve his salary dramatically.
Daniel Farke has rotated between summer signing Lucas Perri and Karl Darlow this season. Illan Meslier, who has dropped down the pecking order, has a contract until 2026.
If Leeds were to sell Meslier in January, they could consider replacing him with Valle.
