Bayern Munich have no plans to sign Leeds United‘s Tarik Muharemović amid claims insisting their desire to take him away from the Premier League side next summer.

The 23-year-old started his career in Austria and moved to Italy when Juventus signed him in 2021. He didn’t make an appearance for their first team, and the Serie A side let him join Sassuolo on loan in 2024.

A year later, Sassuolo made the centre-back’s stay permanent. His performances didn’t go unnoticed in Italy and England and Leeds United signed him in the summer window.

The Slovenia-born Bosnia and Herzegovina has enjoyed good start to his Elland Road career. He played minute so far this season, evening managing goal and an assist.

Leeds United form attracting interest

Juventus wanted to bring him back in the summer before Daniel Farke’s side completed his signing.

Last month, Sport Witness covered a report from Italy explaining that the Old Lady regret losing Tarik Muharemović to Leeds United. This is mainly because of his fine displays, which has also led to a few transfer links.

The UK media recently talked about Bayern Munich showing interest in the Leeds United summer signing. The Bundesliga winners have reportedly identified him as their main target for next summer.

Bild journalist Christian Falk has dismissed Bayern Munich’s firm interest in the Bosnian in his podcast, Bayern Insider.

He said: “No, not true again. The player is playing since the summer. I think he has a contract until 2031. He will be very expensive, and Bayern Munich won’t go for him at the moment.”

“And they don’t have any plans which are so far away like 2027. That’s not like Bayern Munich. They have a short list and know the player, but it’s not so concrete to say, ‘this is a topic for Bayern Munich’. They have a few defenders and have to see what the future will bring.”

Relief for Leeds United

Tarik Muharemović has a contract until 2031, and Transfermarkt value him at €40m. It has increased by €33m since June 2025 and €5m after moving to Elland Road.

This shows his rise, which is also replicated on the pitch. Leeds United have conceded five goals from six league matches and currently have the joint best defensive record in the Premier League. Muharemović is one of the key reasons for that.

Christian Falk calming down the Bayern Munich links will come as a relief for the Whites. If Vincent Kompany’s side or another club were to launch a concrete move, they have to dig deep to convince Leeds United to sell.
