Newcastle United‘s Joelinton has an opportunity to leave the Premier League side and move to Saudi Arabia this summer. 

He joined Newcastle United from TSG Hoffenheim in 2019 and established himself as a key player under Eddie Howe.

The manager arrived in November 2021 and changed the player’s position from attack to the midfield.

Earlier this year, the Brazilian said he’s grateful to the Magpies and their fans for their support since he arrived at the club. Despite this, he could change clubs in the coming weeks.

Update from Saudi on Newcastle United player 

Saudi journalist Khalid Al-Zahrani took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a short update on the 29-year-old.

His own information states Joelinton has been offered to the recruitment committee.

They in return have presented his name to Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Qadisiyah.

Saudi’s Public Investment Fund, who own Newcastle United, are the majority stakeholders at Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli. It’s quite possible they have presented him to these clubs and also Al-Qadisiyah.

2 options ruled out for Joelinton

Khalid Al-Zahrani says Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr have no interest, while Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadisiyah are waiting.

This would mean the latter three are yet to decide on whether to make advances to sign him.

Howe may not be happy 

This summer, Newcastle United have sold Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur and signed 18-year-old midfielder, Sean Steur, from Ajax.

There have been claims of Arsenal’s interest in Bruno Guimarães in both Brazil and the UK. He could leave if the Gunners wpay enough.

The latest claims of Joelinton being offered to Saudi Arabian clubs may not please Eddie Howe. Sporting wise, it could be a blow for the manager to see three starting midfielders leave in the same window.

Joelinton has two years left on his contract, and Transfermarkt value him at €25m. He will turn 30 in August.
