On Thursday, Corriere dello Sport reported AS Roma sporting director Fredric Massara had made contact with Aston Villa for Leon Bailey.
Talks were also held with the winger’s entourage as attempts were made to agree personal terms.
Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports contact between Aston Villa and Roma has been positive and both parties are working on an initial loan deal with the option to buy.
Contact has intensified between the two clubs, with Villans director Monchi inclined towards an expensive loan deal with the option to buy of €25m.
In the meantime, Massara is trying to reduce those demands. The newspaper claim that there is optimism that a deal can go through, because the gap in valuation between the two parties is low.
The 28-year-old Jamaican is interested in a switch to the Stadio Olimpico and Roma are considering the possibility of covering his wages using bonuses.
Gazzetta dello Sport also report on the Aston Villa player, claiming talks are ongoing and Roma want an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
Giallorossi manager Gian Piero Gasperini is a fan of Bailey’s versatility and the fact that he can play on both flanks is proving to be key in the move.
