Leeds United are in the picture to sign Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki and have made advances.

Five days ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that Leeds United been in talks with the Serie A side for several weeks. Daniel Farke’s side are working to try and close the Japan international’s signing.

The Premier League side haven’t signed Suzuki yet, and he isn’t the only Parma player on their agenda.

Leeds United have released Illan Meslier and are in talks with Alex Cairns and Karl Darlow for renewals.

The latter two’s contracts expired last month. For now, Lucas Perri is the only stopper at Elland Road. Suzuki can be an option but is also attracting interest from Aston Villa and others.

Leeds United target will leave

Parma Live claim the 23-year-old will leave this summer but the clarity on the price and his next club is missing.

The Villans have to first sort out Emiliano Martínez’s future, and he is now with Argentina at the World Cup.

This could delay his next step, which in return can open the door for Leeds United to sign Zion Suzuki. The delay would also give the Elland Road club an advantage, but they haven’t sent a formal offer so far.

Monday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport claims Parma have made Benjamin Cremaschi and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia’s loan stays permanent. Therefore, the focus is to sell some of their stars before carrying out new signings.

Suzuki, valued at €30m, is the main sale candidate.

Mandela Keita is another option for Parma to raise funds. He’s attracting interest from the Premier League and only Leeds United get a mention.

The newspaper states negotiations have begun with Leeds United for the 24-year-old midfielder, also valued at €30m.

Belgian has to decide on Leeds United

That’s all Gazzetta says about the Whites’ efforts to sign the Belgium international. They don’t mention whether the midfielder is open to joining Leeds United this summer.

Mandela Keita, who joined Parma in 2024, has a contract until 2029. Transfermarkt now value him at €20m and this is the highest value of his career.

Earlier claims had mentioned Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa as his options. He has to decide whether to join Leeds United or wait for another club. Everton have also been strongly linked recently.
