Lucas Perri’s move to Torino from Leeds United could finally be on the verge of being completed after weeks of delays.
Foot Mercato report that they have learned this tie ‘it is a done deal’. Torino have now finalised everything for Perri to move to join before deadline day.
They state that despite lingering doubts in recent days regarding the Leeds goalkeeper’s physical condition, and questions raised by the Italians, the deal has now been secured.
Torino greenlight the deal
Torino have now officially green-lit the move. The Brazilian is now set to continue his career in Serie A following a disappointing year at Elland Road.
The outlet reports that Torino have improve their offer to Leeds to include a €14m purchase option in the loan. They also make mention of an ‘optional fourth year’ in the player’s contract.
The Serie A club have managed to beat off late competition from Olympique Marseille. They have also managed to navigate around the various twists and turns in recent weeks that have delayed the transfer. They have ‘ultimately won the race’.
Lucas Perri is now free to officially join them before deadline day. Torino and Leeds now just need to finalise the last administrative details of the transfer.
One in, one out
His departure will also open up a space for Leeds to complete a deal for goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.
Sport Witness covered reports this week explaining that Leeds have convinced the goalkeeper into the move. A weekend trip to Elland Road was reportedly key.
He has also accepted that he would play a secondary role behind James Trafford. He is now the undisputed number one under Daniel Farke following his big move from Manchester City this summer.
Zetterer had initially been reluctant to move from Eintracht Frankfurt, but the situation has now changed. And Perri’s impending move to Torino, which Foot Mercato report has now been finalised, will open up the space for him to arrive at Elland Road.
