Arsenal‘s Cristhian Mosquera has made a trip to Spain as he continues to work on recovering from an injury.
The centre-back suffered a hamstring injury in the Premier League winners’ 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on August 31st.
Mosquera picked Spain over Colombia and made his senior debut in March but didn’t make it to the World Cup. The Arsenal man could have returned to the national team this month had he stayed fit.
Arsenal man wants to return in October
It hasn’t stopped him from taking advantage of the break to return to Spain. That’s according to Superdeporte, who covers his trip to his country and what he did there.
The 22-year-old is a product of Valencia’s academy and spent four years with their first team before leaving for Arsenal in 2025. Prior to joining them, he had snubbed Atlético Madrid’s approaches.
He was training with the La Liga side yesterday. After pointing it out, Superdeporte adds Cristhian Mosquera worked with Los Ches’ rehabilitation specialist.
He wants to recover from the injury and to make himself available when the club football returns in two weeks.
After the international break, Mikel Arteta’s side will host Leeds United at the Emirates on October 10th. Mosquera wants to make himself available for this clash.

Very happy at Arsenal
On Thursday, he spoke to the Spanish media and Plaza Deportiva have relayed his comments.
On his latest trip to Mestalla, he said: “I took advantage of the fact that I was coming to Valencia and the club gave me a little space to work and do something brief on my own, nothing out of the ordinary.”
Cristhian Mosquera made 35 appearances and won the title in his debut season with the Gunners.
After confirming he’s “very happy” at the Emirates, Mosquera explained: “Last season was incredible; we were missing the icing on the cake (the Champions League), but let’s hope things go well this season too.”
However, the defender is clearly not happy to see Valencia struggling this season. Los Ches are 19th in the table and recently appointed Javier Aguirre as Carlos Corberán’s successor.
On his former club’s poor start, he added: “I’m suffering from it from afar, but things are sure to get better. I’ve seen the faces of the players, and they’re confident they can turn things around, get points, and I know they will. I was with them for quite a few years, and I trust them.”
