Rayan Ait-Nouri has failed to become a regular at Manchester City since joining from Wolves in 2025. An exit could be on the horizon.
The left-back cost the Citizens €37m in June 2025. A deal was seen as a bargain then, as the Algerian had been a proven Premier League left-back for several years.
Until now, Ait-Nouri has played only 33 games for Manchester City. He is yet to play a single time in the Premier League this season, featuring for less than 1000 minutes in the competition last season.
This has led to a push for his exit, with interest rising from Italy.
Contacts made for deal
Gazzetta dello Sport report Juventus were keen on the full-back in the summer. They tried to execute a deal late in August and the player also seemed keen on a transfer.
A move didn’t go through, even if Ait-Nouri was actively looking for a new club.
Juve remain alert to his situation. They have, as a result, made contact for a possible deal, having spoken to his entourage again.
The Algerian international would be interested in a move in January, which is why Juve are looking to execute an initial loan deal. They would like to offer an option to buy, with Ait-Nouri desperate to become a key player.
The Bianconeri will hand him that chance. In the summer, Juan Cabal decided to stay in Turin and this held up a move for the Manchester City man. The Colombian is much more likely to leave in January, giving Juve a chance to sign Ait-Nouri in the next few months.
Player needs the transfer
The 25-year-old was full of promise at Wolves but that has clearly faded now. He should be desperate to seek an exit, as Enzo Maresca doesn’t seem to have plans for him.
Juve can hand him more minutes but Ait-Nouri may not be the undisputed first-choice there. Andrea Cambiaso, who is currently injured, is the regular at left-back and Zeki Celik has filled in during his absence.
Besides, more clubs could start monitoring the defender in the next few weeks. So clearly, the situation could yet change, although Juve will continue to keep an eye on how things go.
