It seems Ralph Hasenhüttl will continue without a job after leaving Southampton in November.
Earlier this week, the German media had named him a candidate to take charge of TSG Hoffenheim. Journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed he was one of the ‘top’ targets the Bundesliga side had on the table.
However, as the same reporter features an update on the situation today, it’s claimed that the former Southampton boss turned down that opportunity.
Plettenberg claims Hasenhüttl ‘said no’ to Hoffenheim. The German club now have a new ‘top candidate’, which is Pellegrini Matarazzo, who’s set to hold ‘final talks’ for the job today.
It then sounds like the former Saints boss is comfortable being unemployed for now, as the manager is probably focused on another type of job for his future. Hoffenheim currently stand 14th in the Bundesliga table, and there aren’t big aspirations for them in these final months of the season.
In his job at Southampton, Hasenhüttl held a record of 60 wins, 38 draws and 75 losses in 173 games. He joined the club in December 2018 and was sacked in November 2022.
