Cher Ndour has grown significantly in the last few months and details of Crystal Palace‘s interest have come to light.
The midfielder took a leading role for La Viola last season, playing a part in their survival in Serie A. This also led to him playing for the Italian national team over the summer and he has started this campaign well too.
But this week, Ndour featured for the Italy U21s’ side and scored a spectacular goal from his own half.
This has only brought more attention on the Fiorentina player, who is now highly sought after. Crystal Palace could have a shot at a deal in the next few months.
Ndour’s value has risen
Wednesday’s print edition of Corriere Fiorentino reports Ndour was unsellable for Fiorentina in the summer. They would’ve rather sold Nicolo Fagioli instead of the ex-PSG youngster and this stance was clear from Fabio Paratici.
Despite that, Crystal Palace made a concrete offer for the 22-year-old. This was rejected and Napoli interest was also brushedoff.
Ndour’s value was close to €30m at that point but that has now changed. Fiorentina’s asking price for him is now closer to €40m, especially as 50% of the profit will go to PSG.
Moreover, Paratici has been impressed by the midfielder’s development, with Juventus also interested in him. Beyond Crystal Palace, other English clubs are also in the hunt, which isn’t a great surprise.
Ndour is currently focused on Fiorentina, however, everything will depend on offers that land on their table.
Our take: Competition set to rise
Ndour has shown himself to be a complete midfielder. He is physically dominant, which allows him to carry the ball forward with purpose. Even off the ball, he uses that ability quite well.
This makes him a very good fit for Premier League football, which will make sure competition will rise for him.
Crystal Palace should remain in the hunt though, especially as his valuation isn’t sky-high yet. If that changes, things could get difficult.
