Aston Villa have been in the hunt for Real Madrid’s Endrick, and it’s a route they shouldn’t forget too soon.

The attacker had the chance to leave Los Blancos in the summer. Nothing materialised and the decision hasn’t worked out well for the Brazilian.

He has played only four minutes in La Liga, having remained on the bench in the Champions League too.

This has led to speculation around Endrick’s future. Sport Witness have covered how Aston Villa have been interested and are the leading candidate to sign the talent.

His entourage have now spoken, and whilst the priority is still to make it in Madrid, the reality suggests something different.

Endrick
Endrick has had a difficult time since joining Real Madrid. His loan to Lyon was a success and similar may be needed soon.

RocNation’s Head of Football Alan Redmond spoke to AdnKronos about several clients on the agency’s roster. Endrick was a major topic of discussions and Redmond revealed some key details.

He made it clear that the player is still awaiting game time at Real Madrid.

Redmond said: “The financial aspect isn’t important; the player evaluates the club’s project. We’re talking about a player with the qualities to be at Real Madrid; he just needs opportunities.

“Endrick came from a loan spell at Lyon and played very well in France, then he had some problems, and I think it was also quite frustrating for him not to be at his best physically.”

He further noted that the attacker has always wanted to stay at Los Blancos.

“However, the idea has always been to stay in Madrid. We’ll see what happens in the future, but honestly, I think he’ll stay at Real Madrid for a long time. That’s my opinion.”

Redmond also disclosed that a January exit may not be possible, despite interest from clubs like Aston Villa.

“I don’t think he’ll move. The clubs mentioned are fantastic, but I don’t think he’ll go play anywhere else.”

Villans should stay in the hunt

The way things are going, Endrick is wasting his potential at Real Madrid. He needs game time, which is unlikely to come, as he is way down the pecking order at the Spanish club.

Even if Redmond speaks in favour of a stay, it might be too early to call. Besides, things were the same last year but the 20-year-old still ended up at Lyon on loan and impressed in Ligue 1.

That is why Aston Villa should remain in the hunt for a deal. Real Madrid may even be interested in a permanent transfer as long as they secure a buyback option. That’s been a route they’ve tried repeatedly in recent years.
