Arsenal could ‘make an attempt’ to sign Inter Milan star Hakan Çalhanoğlu in the summer, according to InterLive.it.
The midfielder has impressed for the Nerazzurri this season, managing four goals and eight assists from 47 games. His form has convinced the Serie A side to tie him down to a new deal and he’s also drawn attention from other clubs.
Inter are working to renew the 29-year-old’s contract until 2027 and offer him a deal worth €6m per season.
It’s claimed the Italian club must ‘watch out for Arsenal’ as they could make an attempt to take him away from the San Siro.
The Gunners could ‘launch the first potential attack’ for Çalhanoğlu, because Mikel Arteta will see Granit Xhaka, who has a deal until 2024, move to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Arsenal could table a bid of around €35-40m for the Turkey international. If they were to make this offer, the report states Inter would find themselves in ‘great difficulty’, since they have the need to raise funds to balance their books.
Inter would also be in a position to make a rich capital gain since Çalhanoğlu joined them for free in 2021.
At the moment, the Champions League finalists don’t have to worry since Arsenal haven’t yet made an offer.
