Philippe Coutinho’s decision to leave Liverpool for Barcelona hasn’t worked out well for the Brazil international.

The 28-year-old is on loan at Bayern Munich and there’s been multiple reports discussing Premier League interest in him.

Reports from the British media have suggested the playmaker wants to return to Anfield and is ready to take a pay cut to do so.

Mundo Deportivo journalist Miguel Rico details the other interest, then says ‘and now Liverpool’ have entered the frame.

He states the Camp Nou side admit a move back to Liverpool is an option for the player, ‘of course, with a nuance’.

Jürgen Klopp’s side made Barca pay €145m for Coutinho in January 2018. Therefore, Mundo add, a loan move will not be contemplated and the attacking midfielder will only be allowed to join Liverpool on a permanent sale.

This is clear bitterness.

It’s not the Reds’ fault that Coutinho’s transfer has failed and they’re clearly not going to take him back on less favourable terms to other clubs.
