Voetbal Primeur report exclusive information on his future today. According to the Dutch outlet, Espanyol have shown a concrete interest and hope to sign the Netherlands international in the near future.
Quilindschy Hartman expects to make a move this summer too. He does not want to stay at Burnley following their relegation this season. Espanyol have since positioned themselves to get a deal done.
The Spanish club are already at an advance stage of negotiations and are in the final stage of talks with Burnley too.
Hartman is open to the move to Spain and working towards reaching an agreement. He has already been linked with a move to the club over the last six months. At the end of January, he was spotted in the stands at one of their games, fuelling rumours of a transfer.
Burnley and Espanyol deal negotiations
A deal is now hard to get over the line thanks to Burnley and Espanyol both being owned by American businessman Alan Pace. That has likely facilitated talks between the two clubs over the defender.
Hartman moved to Burnley from Feyenoord for €10m last summer. He started the season as a regular under Scott Parker but fell out of favour as the campaign progressed. A loan move to Ajax was on the cards in the January transfer window. But that ultimately collapsed at the last minute.
That prompted talk of a potential move to Espanyol, which has now progressed into the summer as well. Indeed, according to Voetbal Primeur, that deal is now in the final stages. In fact it is looking likely to be concluded sooner rather than later.
