Xavi Simons has taken part in RB Leipzig training today despite Chelsea’s ongoing negotiations to sign him this summer.
That’s according to journalist Philipp Hinze, who reports that Leipzig’s asking price has yet to move from €70m all-in, including add-ons.
They consider this a ‘fair and reasonable package’ for the Dutch attacking midfielder and seemingly intend to stick to it moving forwards.
Bayern Munich are also in the mix and have gathered information from the player’s side about his situation.
Chelsea and Leipzig are in contact about a transfer but, as of this morning, no official offer has been submitted to the German club. This is despite reports yesterday that Chelsea were moving quickly to ensure they weren’t beaten by Bayern Munich or other suitors.
The lack of advancement means that Simons remains in Leipzig training and is training normally without restrictions with the Leipzig squad. He is a full part of their current training camp, which would suggest that a transfer to Chelsea or somewhere else is not imminent.
That can always change, of course, but for the time being Leipzig don’t intend to move from their asking price, which they think is more than fair.
