As the weeks go by and the summer transfer window approaches, more and more rumours of deals that were meant to take place in January will start reemerging.
One of these concerns Everton’s young Belgian forward David Henen, who was said to be on the brink of a move to France, with both Marseille and Lille said to have made offers, yet he remains a Toffee for the time being.
RMC claimed a move to Marseille was in the works, while Mercato365, a week or so later, reported Lille were the favourites, and now Nice, who had also been linked in the past by Walfoot in Belgium, have joined the serious chase for Henen’s services.
In fact, TF1 in France on Wednesday published an article stating that all three clubs will be fighting for his signature in the summer, as his ability to either play up front or on the wing could help bolster their squads.
Everton are said to want to keep him ‘at all costs’, but it appears they’ve left things a little too late, and the 20-year-old has already made his mind up.
With time still on his side, a move to France could be the perfect way to once again kickstart his career, after a loan to Fleetwood Town a couple of seasons ago failed to do just that.
