Joshua Zirkzee’s future is slowly becoming one of the big topics in the Italian football media, and there are a couple of reasons for that.

The first is that his season at Bologna so far was enough to draw some big interest in him, with his club expecting to make a record €60m sale. Then there’s the fact that Serie A giants AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus would all like to sign him in the summer.

They’re not alone in that race, though, as Arsenal are one of the clubs who’d like to take him abroad. And outlet Calcio Mercato has something to say about the Gunners’ chase.

First of all, it’s worth explaining the current Italian scenario. Inter Milan aren’t expected to be able to afford such a signing, and are considered out of the race. But Juventus and Milan continue to battle, and each would have their own advantages to get Zirkzee.

As for Premier League sides, Calcio Mercato writes that Arsenal are ‘above all’ the English competition, with their emissaries recently watching the player. Manchester United and Aston Villa are also mentioned.

The Gunners are said to be ready to offer the winger ‘staggering numbers’ by placing a €6m net salary per season on the table. He currently makes less than €1m an year, so that should make his eyes glow.

It’s said Arsenal are currently ‘preparing the assault’ and are a real ‘threat’ to the Serie A sides who want him. Even though Zirkzee is said to be fine in Italy, it’s made clear that the Gunners’ offer could be strong enough to change the whole scenario.

With reports that Gabriel Jesus could be sold, there’s the belief Mikel Arteta could offer Zirkzee a starting role… and that would be a major temptation.
