Crystal Palace and Everton are today again mentioned in the race for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.
This freshest story comes from German outlet Bild, who claim that the Bundesliga side are already working to sign another centre-back for next season.
Wolfsburg reportedly ‘internally expect’ that Lacroix will be gone in the summer window, and now want to guarantee his replacement as soon as possible.
Speaking of clubs who are interested in the defender, it’s first mentioned that Serie A giants AC Milan and Juventus want him, as well as Everton and Crystal Palace.
Bild doesn’t provide any information on which of those clubs would be leading the race, or if there’s anyone ready to make the highest bid for the defender.
It’s worth recalling that Crystal Palace may have an advantage, as Oliver Glasner previously worked with Lacroix at Wolfsburg, years before he arrived at Selhurst Park.
That doesn’t guarantee they will win the race for him, though, and we should soon see how strong Everton’s interest is in the centre-back as well.
