Chelsea continued a miserable week for the club with a 1-0 defeat to Juventus.

The Turin club are currently tenth in Serie A after six matches, and find themselves 10 points behind leaders Napoli. Therefore, beating last season’s Champions League winners is a big deal for Max Allegri’s side and will give them added confidence ahead of coming matches.

In Italy, Juventus’ performance is being seen in a good light, with Gazzetta dello Sport giving them a combined rating of 7.5/10. For Chelsea, that drops down to a disappointing 5/10.

‘The worst’ performer for Thomas Tuchel’s side is put as Hakim Ziyech, with Gazzetta saying ‘never a shot, a dribble, only 8 crosses’.

They weren’t too impressed with Tuchel’s management of the game either, but did feel Mateo Kovacic played reasonably well, giving him 6.5.

Kai Havertz is described as having had ‘a lesson in Italian’ football. Ben Chilwell was ‘barely seen’ during the match.

For Chelsea, it’s not a disaster and they still find themselves second in the group and in a good position to qualify. It is, however, another dent in the club’s early season optimism.
