Gazzetta dello Sport have run claims on Liverpool and Zinho Vanheusden twice this week, with the latest coming in their Saturday edition. Inter Milan rate the young defender very highly and he’s been part of the club’s preseason preparation this summer, appearing in two Inter games.
Vanheusden turned 18 years of age on Saturday, and the Italian newspaper used the player’s birthday to worry on Inter’s behalf. Liverpool could ‘soon’ start their attack to sign Vanheusden, with his contract situation favourable to buying clubs.
Gazzetta believe that with Vanheusden’s contract ending in June 2019, the situation is ‘very appetising’ for Liverpool, and any others with interest.
Jurgen Klopp has an excellent record of working with young players, and Liverpool may be able to sell Vanheusden the idea of a quick route to their first team squad.
It’s not a replacement for the Virgil van Dijk idea, but rather planning for the future so Liverpool’s defensive pool is of better quality.
