Andre Gomes would much rather have been chosen for Portugal’s World Cup squad, but he seems to be having a brilliant summer regardless.

The Barcelona player has been on holiday to New York, Formentera, Ibiza and most recently shared Instagram snaps of himself looking thoughtful in Rome.

That led to links with Lazio, and, as covered by Il Messaggero today, even a claim Barcelona could use Gomes in a deal to sign Sergej Milinković-Savić from the Italian club.

Going with the flow, Il Messaggero say Lazio would face competition from several clubs, and state: ‘Juventus, Tottenham and Wolverhampton have been following him for some time.’

Wolves have been linked previously, largely due to the Jorge Mendes connection. Gomes is represented by Mendes’ Gestifute agency and the Midlands club have done repeat business that way.

Tottenham have been linked on and off for years, and it’s usually the Spanish press mentioning Spurs as a potential destination.

The claims aren’t the strongest, in our opinion, but if a club makes a reasonable offer for the 24 year old midfielder this summer there’s a very good chance Barcelona will accept.
