For a while, Wolves have been the only club repeatedly linked to Rafa Silva in the Portuguese media.

The Benfica player needs a move to kickstart his career and the Lisbon club don’t seem to be too against the idea of a January exit, but they’d obviously like more interest to come forward.

According to Turkey’s Fanatik, fresh interest has now come from Besiktas. It’s stated the Turkish club are keen on a deal for a player Fanatik say is valued around €10m, and this would line them up for a January tussle with Wolves.

Before the Portuguese press actually linked Rafa Silva with Wolves, they first reported Benfica were keen to sell him and exploring options in England. At that time we said Wolves would be an obvious club to try and soon enough the Championship side were linked.

Whether the Wolves link originally came about because it was an obvious one to make or through the Portuguese media having genuine information is in the eye of the beholder.

Besiktas only want a loan, at this stage, which gives Benfica something to consider and is probably an option they’d be minded to accept. That stance is probably also true of any genuine Wolves interest.
