Wolverhampton Wanderers and Al Hilal have an agreement for the transfer of Ruben Neves, the Portuguese media says.

Outlet O Jogo reports there’s a deal for the midfielder to join the Saudi side in a €55m move.

Neves seems to be on board with the operation, with the story claiming he has a personal agreement with Al Hilal and ‘prepares to continue his career in Saudi Arabia’.

The Wolves midfielder is currently with the national team, where it apparently was all agreed. Now he’s only set to complete the transfer once he’s done with his international commitments.

Portugal faced Bosnia on Sunday and are now set to play Iceland on Tuesday, with both games being played in the Euro Qualifiers.

According to O Jogo, only an ‘unlikely turnaround’ would make the transfer collapse, as Neves has the move ‘well underway to try Asian football’.

The midfielder joined Wolves in a €17.9m move from Porto back in 2017. He’s now set to leave the club with 253 appearances, 30 goals and 13 assists.

Despite the many links with a move to Barcelona, he seems to be heading to an unexpected destination.
