The German media today features exciting updates on Arsenal’s pursuit of Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.

Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg claims the 24-year-old is now ‘very close’ to joining the Gunners, depending on their final offer.

The player is said to be keen on leaving Chelsea for Arsenal, with the personal terms ‘almost agreed’.

It’s said that even though Bayern Munich ‘inquired’ about the conditions, the talks between Blues and Gunners are too advanced and the Bundesliga giants have not stepped in.

Plettenberg claims that Arsenal analysed Havertz ‘in detail’, with Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta convinced he’s the ‘perfect player’ to improve their attack this summer.

As the talks enter the final stages, the total package is claimed to be worth €80m ‘all in’, even though it’s not detailed how much the Gunners would be spending up front.

Arsenal reportedly want Havertz as a ‘versatile striker’ to play with Gabriel Jesus, and the German player is ‘convinced about the project’.

So even though recent reports from Germany made it look like Bayern Munich could be a threat, now it seems they’d hardly beat Arsenal in that fight.
