The Florence media weren’t going to let the weekend come and go without again reporting on Patrick Cutrone’s potential exit from Wolves this month.

Fiorentina have been very strongly linked in the Italian media for weeks now, and early last week it was suggested a deal was almost done. Nuno Espirito Santo left the player out at the weekend as Wolves faced Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Had Nuno been planning with Cutrone long term then he would have been expected to play, especially with Wolves making several changes to their starting eleven.

La Nazione report that he was left out is a ‘decisive signal’ on the transfer. It’s claimed the striker ‘seems to give the go-ahead’ for a return to Serie A, and now the formula of a deal is being negotiated.

Wolves are said to prefer an immediate sale, whereas Fiorentina would like a loan with a right to purchase the player in the summer. La Nazione say a deal which would see the Premier League club get €2m for the loan, with a €15m buying option for the Italians, is a possibility.

It’s thought the coming days will be decisive.
