Last month, multiple reports from Spain stated that Wolverhampton Wanderers want to sign Real Madrid’s Nacho.

The 32-year-old can operate across the back four and has a contract expiring at the end of this season. Los Blancos have offered him a one-year extension, but the Spaniard has not accepted the renewal offer so far due to a lack of game time this season.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who explain there is a possibility for Nacho to change clubs in the winter market and this has put Wolves on alert.

Wolves are one of the two Premier League sides that ‘stand out’ in the chase to sign the defender, the other being Aston Villa. Their interest is ‘not accidental’ and it’s because of Julen Lopetegui’s presence at Molineux.

The English club’s manager knows Nacho well from his time at the Bernabéu and also with La Roja. As per the report, Lopetegui has always liked the player.

With Wolves showing interest in Carlo Ancelotti’s man, he has a decision to make on his future. If Nacho wants to leave, the Champions League winners will not stand in his way.
