With Weston McKennie now back from the World Cup, it’s time for Tottenham Hotspur to carry on with their chase for his signing.

The United States were knocked out by the Netherlands at the weekend, and Calcio Mercato today features a piece about the midfielder’s return to Juventus.

It’s claimed that McKennie runs the ‘risk of not finding much space’ in the Old Lady’s midfield, especially now that Paul Pogba is set to return from injury.

The outlet then highlights the interest from the Premier League in the player, naming Tottenham as ‘one of the clubs who tested the ground’.

It’s claimed Spurs’ interest ‘could turn into an offer’ in the January transfer window.

However, it’s pointed out it’d be strange to see Federico Cherubini and Fabio Paratici negotiating at the same table, now that it was revealed the Juventus chief made critical comments about the Tottenham director in a private conversation.

Calcio Mercato don’t mention how much Spurs would offer or how much the Old Lady shall demand for McKennie. But with the Italian club now afraid he’d end up on their bench, that’s definitely something Tottenham could use on their side to get a cheaper deal.
