The more time passes, the likelier it is Emiliano Sala leaves FC Nantes either in January or in the summer depending on the offers received in the next couple of months.

Last week, we relayed information from a former employee of the Ligue 1 club, who stated a renewal for the Argentine was pretty much impossible as the player wanted to leave “ASAP”, and now a new club have started looking at him: Wolverhampton.

Starting off rather well in the Premier League, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side’s form has taken a turn for the worse recently, and goals have been hard to come by.

Scoring just four in their last six games, perhaps it isn’t a surprise to see Wolves be interested in a player who has scored 11 goals in the league so far this season, just two fewer than the whole Wolves team have managed to put together.

This information is given to us by Ouest-France, Nantes’ local newspaper, who also explain it will take a lot of money to convince the Ligue 1 side to part ways with their star in January.

Waldemar Kita, the club’s president, is quoted as saying they’ll need to see offers of ‘at least €30m’, which seems a lot, even for a club such as Wolves who haven’t been shy about opening their chequebook in the past.

We’ll have to see how true to his word he is.
