West Ham beat AZ Alkmaar 2-1 on Thursday evening, giving themselves a good chance of getting through to the UEFA Europa Conference League final.

David Moyes’ side just need to avoid losing when they play the second leg in the Netherlands.

At the same time as the Hammers were playing, AS Roma were up against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League, with Jose Mourinho’s side getting a 1-0 win.

In attendance in Rome was Gianluca Scamacca, with several local media outlets spotting him entering the stadium ahead of the match.

SiAmoLaRoma explain that Scamacca came through the ranks at AS Roma and despite leaving the club on bad terms he’s remained a fan of the side, hence his attendance.

The striker has been repeatedly linked with a return to Italy, after failing to convince everyone at West Ham, and SiAmoLaRoma believe that Hammers fans will be annoyed that he was at the Roma match when his own side was playing an important game.

Currently out injured, Scamacca has obviously been given permission to recover in Italy.
