Former Hamburg manager Tim Walter has made a trip to England to visit Nottingham Forest.
That’s at least what Sky Deutschland are reporting, and add that the German was in the directors’ box when they hosted Manchester City on Sunday.
Walter has only managed in his own country so far and has been without a job since leaving Hamburg in February.
The report states the 48-year-old is open to accepting a new challenge, potentially one outside Germany.
It’s explained that ‘one trail leads to Nottingham Forest’, where Nuno Espírito Santo has been in charge since December. The Reds replaced Steve Cooper with the Portuguese tactician, to improve their chances of staying in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest are currently 17th in the table, a point above 18th placed Luton Town. It’s not clear whether Nuno Espírito Santo’s position will be safe if he were to help the club avoid relegation.
Meanwhile, Walter’s visit to Nottingham Forest’s home stadium yesterday has given birth to links with him possibly replacing Nuno Espírito Santo next season.
However, Walter ‘did not want to comment’ when Sky Deutschland asked him about the Nottingham Forest job.
