Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi could find himself as an option looked at by AC Milan, because they love someone else who worked under him.
That’s according to Corriere dela Sera, relayed by FC Inter 1908, who say Milan’s fondness of Francesco Farioli could make the Brighton boss an option they look at.
Milan are on the hunt for a new manager ahead of the summer after deciding to part ways with Stefano Pioli after something of a difficult campaign.
De Zerbi has not been linked much as yet, which is surprising itself given he has found himself named as a potential candidate for pretty much every job that might be available this summer.
He appears to be set for a third year at Brighton at this moment in time, with a big release clause in his current contract having helped to scare off potential suitors too.
That could change, though, as Milan’s reluctance to hire a man who worked under the Brighton boss could lead them to think about the man himself as an alternative option for their bench.
“The name of Francesco Farioli, 35 years old, from Nice, has been rising in recent days,” the newspaper are quoted as saying.
“He has ideas and inspiration, he is considered a baby prodigy, he knows how to speak, inside Casa Milan he intrigues everyone, but he has limited experience.
“The feeling is that he would be the ideal profile if he had already made an intermediate step, but life is like that: it does not always wait for you.
“Roberto De Zerbi, 44 years old, now at Brighton in the Premier League but eager for a change of air is also in the running (Farioli was one of his assistants)’.”
