West Ham United have expressed an interest in Hellas Verona midfielder Antonin Barak, with him currently starring at the Euros for the Czech Republic.

That’s according to Corriere di Verona, who explain the player has been linked with various teams regarding a summer transfer, including the Hammers.

The newspaper explains that Verona are not keen on selling Barak because he has everything to be a key player under Eusebio Di Francesco.

However, the club knows they are limited by the budget, and the rule is that they cannot buy unless they first sell.

They don’t intend to ‘sell out’, but they will sell for the right price and ‘interest has flourished’ around Barak in recent months.

The likes of Inter Milan and Napoli in Italy have been named as interested parties, while West Ham and Eintracht Frankfurt are among his foreign suitors.

Corriere di Verona state that ‘an auction could soon open’ for him, although the player is currently focused on the Euros and potentially making it to the semi-finals.

If the Czech’s were to beat Denmark, it would be a further feather in the cap for Barak and Hellas Verona, who believe that requests to sign him ‘would considerably increase’, and the price ‘can reach at least €20m’.

Whether one of those comes from West Ham remains to be seen, but they have shown an interest nonetheless, so could be one to keep an eye on moving forwards.
