The Italian media has an update on the race for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Heavily linked with a move this summer, the 25-year-old was many times said to be wanted by Arsenal, who at a stage, were said to be in ‘pole position’ for his transfer.

Now outlet Calcio Mercato brings a new list of clubs who are battling for the player, and unsurprisingly, the Gunners continue to get a mention in the fight.

Their report claims that Inter Milan have just joined the competition for Onana, and highlights there’s already a ‘line’ of sides who want him. Among them are Arsenal, Lille, Monaco and Real Sociedad, as they all ‘tested the waters’ for his signing.

Onana’s contract expires in 2022, and as he isn’t expected to sign a new deal with Ajax, Inter Milan are hopeful they could sign him for free next year.

That’s why they’re afraid that other clubs could get a deal with Ajax this summer, even though the player is suspended until the end of November.

If really interested, Arsenal would obviously be aware that the competition will be bigger to sign him as a free agent. So with Inter Milan now joining the list, the Gunners should avoid any issues by trying to reach an agreement with the Dutch side as soon as possible.
