On Tuesday, there was a fair amount of talk that West Ham United could end up making a move for CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic.

The Croatia midfielder, who has already had one Premier League experience with Everton, is seen as the alternative to Jesse Lingard, whom Manchester United aren’t overly keen to see return to the Hammers this season.

There was talk from Italy that a meeting was going to take place regarding a transfer, and that information is confirmed by Russian outlet Eurostavka.

They explain the information from Italy is true, and ‘West Ham can carry out a full-fledged transfer’ for Vlasic and are ‘ready to make an offer’ for the midfielder ‘in the near future’, but they have set a price limit.

It’s made clear that ‘at the moment, they are ready to pay CSKA no more than €23m’.

With the Russian side’s request being around €30m or so, there is a bit of a gap here, and we’ll have to wait and see if the two parties can make that smaller with under a week left in the transfer window.
