West Brom transfer chases mired in confusion again, one player is sure thing

 

During the past week, we’ve been covering how strange it is West Brom are now linked to three different Sporting CP players.

Besides the long chase of William Carvalho, there was also a report from Portugal saying West Brom would be keen in signing Bas Dost and another from Italy claiming an interest in Gelson Martins.

As we all know, the Portuguese press love it when their players are linked to Premier League clubs, especially because these moves end up involving lots of money.

That’s why it’s no surprise that today A Bola has an article covering the three Sporting players who West Brom are supposedly targeting.

The information is credited to the ‘British media’, maybe to sound a bit more reliable, although that’s not the origins at all.

Both Bas Dost and Gelson Martins have release clauses of €60m, and as Sporting don’t want to sell them this summer, these will be difficult players to get.

This will now continue to go around in circles, with the English media blaming the Portuguese media and vice versa.

As it stands, the only Sporting player West Brom have been reliably linked with is William Carvalho.
