With Rayo Vallecano standing in 5th on the La Liga table, there’s no doubt about the great work done by Andoni Iraola at the club.

That’s why, amid the links of his potential move to Leeds United, many people are making it clear that he’s very much needed at the Spanish side.

That’s the case of Rayo Vallecano midfielder Santi Comesaña, who was today interviewed by Marca.

Following the links between Iraola and Leeds, the player was asked about his boss, and made his wish very clear.

“When you do things well there are always teams knocking on the door. We want him to stay,” Comesana told Marca.

Even though the English media only reported Iraola as one of the names Leeds have on the table to replace Jesse Marsch, the coverage in Spain has been big.

Earlier on Wednesday, we’ve seen the likes of AS and Marca featuring reports on the Rayo Vallecano manager, claiming the club have been ‘calm’ about his potential exit.

It’s once again said the coach is still to receive any contacts from Leeds, who are taking their time to announce who their next boss will be, with Andrea Radrizzani openly keeping fans updated about the process.
