Having returned from his loan at Lyon, Tanguy Ndombélé is now back at Tottenham ahead of their preseason tour.

Earlier this week, the midfielder made it clear he still felt he could be happy at Spurs, even if things didn’t really go his way last season with Antonio Conte in charge.

That being said, with Champions League football back at Tottenham, there will be a need to have more depth in the squad, which Ndombélé could help with.

There is a player in there somewhere, since Spurs spent a vast amount on money to get him from Lyon, and it appears there’s still hope he could be of use in London.

That’s according to Media Foot, who explain the player ‘should stay’ at Tottenham going forward, and there is ‘no question’ of an exit ‘for the time being’ even if there have been ‘a few contacts in Europe’.

Ndombélé ‘should find himself a space in the squad’ for the 2022-23 season, but that doesn’t mean clubs aren’t still interested.

According to the same article, Paris Saint-Germain, who were already keen in January, are ‘keeping an eye’ on the Tottenham player in case things don’t go well in their attempts to sign Renato Sanches.

Therefore, ‘the idea of a loan, towards the end of the transfer window, shouldn’t be excluded’.
