Back on Monday, we covered reports from Tutto Mercato Web which said Tottenham Hotspur and Cremonese reached an agreement for the transfer of Pepe Matar Sarr.

The Italian outlet claimed that the 19-year-old would leave the London side on a temporary move, sounding very sure that the deal was on.

Today, however, Tutto Mercato Web is back with a minor setback in the talks, claiming Tottenham will need a little more time to think about the transfer, as these are ‘hours of reflection’ at the Premier League side.

It’s now claimed that before letting Sarr go, Spurs want to understand Rodrigo Bentancur’s situation better. The player is currently injured, and since it’s not yet known how long it will take for him to recover, they’re waiting to see if they can let another midfielder leave.

The report claims Cremonese remain confident that a final deal with Tottenham can be found on Wednesday. Still, the club already started moving to find alternatives in the market, and one of them is Jean Onana, from Bordeaux.
