With Timo Werner edging ever closer to his loan deal from RB Leipzig to Tottenham, the striker may not get a chance like this again in the future.
This is according to WettFreunde’s Peter Neururer, who wrote a column about the various transfers potentially set to take place in Germany in the coming weeks.
He touches upon the likelihood of Tottenham’s Eric Dier heading to Bayern Munich, describing it all as a bit odd considering the versatile defender isn’t a regular under Ange Postecoglou.
Moving onto Werner, who wasn’t getting the game time he wanted in Leipzig under Marco Rose ahead of next year’s Euros, the forward needs to grab this chance with both hands.
Neururer said: “Werner knows his way around the Premier League, played for Chelsea, was actually relatively successful there, but not recognised, strangely enough. But he knows his way around. He knows what to expect, and this is actually his last chance.
“The last chance to jump on the Euros bandwagon in Germany, so all the best and good luck! After that, however, he’ll have to think about whether he wants to continue playing football at this top level if it doesn’t work out at Tottenham.”
The 27-year-old has really struggled at Leipzig this season, starting just two games in the Bundesliga, and totalling two goals in 14 appearances for the Bundesliga side in all competitions.
