Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Rennes star Martin Terrier.

According to Media Foot, the two Premier League sides ‘advance their pawns’ to sign the forward, who has 11 goals and four assists from 20 matches this season.

Both Tottenham and Manchester United have already positioned themselves for several months and have recently ‘moved behind the scenes’ with the 25-year-old’s agent.

It’s claimed the emissaries of Spurs and the Red Devils ‘contacted’ Terrier’s representative to ask about the player’s will, his salary expectations and the conditions needed to carry out the operation.

Despite the north London club and Erik ten Hag’s side moving behind the scenes, Rennes don’t want to let go of the Frenchman.

Media Foot add that if Terrier continues to shine, it is very likely the Premier League sides will take action with the Ligue 1 club to acquire the attacker’s services.

Terrier mainly operates on the left wing, a position well covered at Manchester United. It would not make sense for them to sign him, especially after deciding against making an approach for Cody Gakpo, who is now set to complete a move to Liverpool.
