For the past few weeks, claims from Turkey have insisted Tottenham Hotspur are one of the candidates to sign Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson. It was also said Spurs are reportedly ready to pay the fee required for the defender.

The north London club seem to have taken further steps and knocked on the Süper Lig’s side door.

That’s according to Türkiye Gazetesi, who add Galatasaray have received the ‘first serious offer’ from Tottenham for the 24-year-old.

It’s claimed Ange Postecoglou’s side were ready to pay €19m excluding bonuses for the centre-back. Galatasaray, for their part, have decided to meet his agent.

The Denmark international has a €25m clause in a deal that expires in 2026. Türkiye Gazetesi say his employer hope to retain him for one more season but at the same time, the player’s willingness to consider offers from other European clubs is also respected.

Therefore, the report states a ‘middle ground is aimed for’. In other words, if Nelsson insists on leaving in the summer, Galatasaray are ready to sanction his sale for €22m.

Meanwhile, Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu says that apart from Tottenham, Arsenal, Sevilla, Atalanta and Borussia Dortmund are also his suitors. Nelsson’s ‘first choice’ is to make a switch to the Premier League, followed by La Liga.
