On June 1st, Marca stated Nottingham Forest ‘want’ Renan Lodi and will knock on Atlético Madrid’s door again for him in the summer.

He spent the 2022/23 season on loan at the City Ground and the Tricky Trees decided not to exercise their purchase option despite being ‘satisifed’ with his displays.

Monday’s Mundo Deportivo states the La Liga side ‘intend to make cash’ from the 25-year-old’s sale in the summer, after his loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

The left-back, as per Mundo, is not included in Diego Simeone’s plans. With Nottingham Forest reportedly wanting to have the Brazilian at the club next season, the report states they ‘should sit down and negotiate’ with Atlético.

Should the Premier League side decide to make another attempt for Lodi, it won’t be easy for them as Benfica and five Brazilian clubs – Corinthians, Santos, Palmeiras, Flamengo and Atlético Paranaens – are also keen on him.

It’s claimed the defender’s idea is to continue in Europe but he isn’t completely against the idea of returning to Brazil.

With several suitors, Mundo state offers won’t be lacking for Lodi in the summer.

Lodi managed a goal and an assist from 32 games last season for Nottingham Forest.

With Atlético looking for as much money as possible, they will be well aware the highest offer would likely come from Nottingham Forest.
