At fault for one of the goals in the North London derby, Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris has been criticised quite a lot for his performance.
That being said, the 34-year-old remains the number one for Antonio Conte, and will be the main man between the sticks for France at the World Cup in November.
Beyond that, however, his future is a bit of a mystery, because despite having a contract at Tottenham until 2024, the veteran could be replaced.
That’s what Jeunes Footeux are claiming on Monday, stating that two players are being looked at to take over from Lloris in London.
The second is far more realistic, with that being Alban Lafont, currently the star of the show at Nantes in France.
The 23-year-old has impressed since his return to France in 2021, and Jeunes Footeux claim Tottenham are ‘keeping an eye’ on the very tall goalkeeper.
His contract at Nantes runs out in 2024, making next summer a very important one for both the Ligue 1 side and the player, who would certainly be tempted by the prospect of being Lloris’ successor at Tottenham should be presented with that chance.
