The Catalan media have moved on from Frenkie de Jong being the flavour of the month to his Ajax teammate Matthijs de Ligt being the one they reckon Barcelona are desperate to sign, as early as the January transfer window.

This needs competition, because it wouldn’t really be a Barcelona transfer story without the Catalan media claiming a player is wanted by everyone else but only has eyes for Barca.

Tottenham are being repeatedly dragged in, and it’s only they, PSG and Real Madrid named by Friday’s edition of Sport.

On Thursday the same newspaper mentioned Mauricio Pochettino’s men alongside both Manchester clubs as teams interested from the Premier League, but now the others are forgotten.

Then it was claimed Spurs could use the adaptation of Davinson Sanchez as something to lure De Ligt, with the defenders playing well together in Amsterdam before the Colombian’s move last summer.

Today they have it differently, explaining Tottenham’s ‘institutional relationship’ with Ajax, formed through deals done between the two clubs, is also something Spurs would hope could help them.

Real Madrid interest interest is pushed, and Los Blancos willingness to pay up for the transfer, and it’s stated Pochettino’s side have the ‘same intention’.
