Earlier today we brought you a report from AS on the future of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

The Spanish midfielder, who was a vital part of the Spanish U21 squad that won the U21 Euros this summer, looks to be departing the Bernabeu.

AS reported that neither he nor Madrid were keen on a permanent sale and instead, Ceballos would be moving on a one-year loan deal.

Tottenham were leading the race for his signature, with Mauricio Pochettino very keen. In fact, Ceballos likes the idea of a move to White Hart Lane as its an ideal location to help him ‘return to prominence’.

AS updates their story this afternoon and now they’ve attached a price to him. According to the newspaper, it would take €50m to sign Ceballos this summer.

That’s an about turn from them, after their earlier claims that Madrid weren’t interested in a permanent sale, as they view Ceballos as one for the future, and the player himself wants to stay at the Bernabeu.

His price tag puts him out of the reach of the likes of Sevilla and Real Betis, who are both interested in him as well this summer.

In fact, such a price means clubs like Tottenham or those in Italy, presumably AC Milan, have ‘more chances’ to take the player according to AS.

Whether that’s in a permanent deal or on loan remains to be seen as the reports are varied. Tottenham, though, are being linked consistently regardless.
