By returning to Spain just six months after his move to Tottenham Hotspur, Bryan Gil had quite a difficult decision to make in the last transfer window.

Signed by Spurs in a €25m deal from Sevilla, the winger had a little struggle in his adaptation to the Premier League, and ended up joining Valencia on a six-month loan for the rest of the season.

Now regarding that transfer, his new teammate Hugo Guillamon has explained he was one of those who tried to convince him to move to the Mestalla in January.

Interviewed by Radio Marca, the midfielder claimed he’d been speaking to Bryan Gil since the rumours went out, and called him to encourage a move.

“I sent Bryan Gil a message when the rumours of his arrival began to come out,” Guillamon told Radio Marca.

“I told him not to hesitate for a moment so that he would sign for Valencia in the winter.”

In his short spell at Tottenham, Bryan Gil had 20 appearances and one assist, with no goals scored. He’s set to return to London in the summer, where he still has a contract until 2026 running with the club.
