Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has held a ‘special meeting’ with Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk about his situation and may now be set for a turnaround at the Turkish club.
That’s according to Milliyet, who say the international break has been ‘like a cure’ for the midfielder after his earlier troubles.
The Frenchman has been on loan with the Turkish side since the summer when it was made clear he was not a part of Tottenham’s plans once again.
He’s been unable to make a positive impression, though, and has instead found himself as the focus or Galatasaray fan’s ire in the last few months.
That’s been due to his performances on the pitch but also his burgeoning waistline, with him even accused of eating too many burgers. Several reports make it clear that Galatasaray were tired of the situation and looking to send him back to Tottenham in January.
It seems the international break has been ‘like a cure’, though, with Milliyet reporting that Ndombele has held a ‘special meeting’ with Buruk to sort out his situation.
The plan now is to ‘gradually’ bring him back into the fold after he appeared ‘very enthusiastic’ in training and improved his performance levels day by day.
Buruk reportedly told the Tottenham loanee “We waited for the right time for you to play. You are a special player, and we have high expectations from you. It was learned that he said, ‘It’s time to show yourself’.”
Whether he can now do so remains to be seen but just when it appeared his time in Turkey was over, it appears it no longer is.
