Velez Sarsfield don’t sound very happy with the way Manchester City are pursuing Maximo Perrone.

As club president Sergio Rapisarda spoke to the Argentine media at the weekend, he claims that the Citizens have been ‘persuading’ the youngster too much, with Pep Guardiola making a few calls to get the transfer done.

“I’ve spoken with the people of City, because already we have a precedent. They manage this way: they were constantly persuading the boy,” Rapisarda told Velez670 (via TyC Sports).

“They made an offer that did not seduce us. He’s a player of an important calibre. But the boy wants to leave, it’s not easy… The City coach called him three times. Mascherano also persuaded him, things that I do not like.”

Still, Perrone is only protected by an €8m release clause, and that means Velez Sarsfield can’t do a lot about that. That’s why the president believes the player’s will is going to be crucial for that move to happen.

“Perrone wants to go: he loves that coach and that club.”

Meanwhile, journalist Cesar Luis Merlo shares some news about the negotiations between Manchester City and Velez Sarsfield.

On Twitter, he claims that the Argentine club are in talks for the Citizens to pay more than the release clause for the transfer. The reason isn’t revealed, but it sounds like that could allow a payment from the Premier League club in several instalments.

Merlo claims that in case there isn’t an understanding, then Manchester City are willing to pay the full €8m at once to guarantee the signing.
