Following Brazil’s four goals and four different dances against South Korea, Manchester United legend Roy Keane went on a rant about him not liking that kind of celebration, dubbing it ‘disrespectful’.

It’s well known that one of the main dancers in Brazil’s squad is West Ham star Lucas Paquetá, and that’s why he was the one to respond to those comments.

“I think dancing is the symbol, we symbolise the joy of scoring a goal, we don’t do it to disrespect, we don’t go in front of an opponent, we don’t do anything,” Lucas Paquetá told the Brazilian media (via UOL).

“We get together, everyone is there, and we celebrate because it’s our moment. We scored the goal and Brazil is celebrating. If he doesn’t like it, there’s not much I can do for him. If we score a goal, we will continue to celebrate like this.”

Lucas Paquetá was a starter in three Brazil matches in this World Cup, only staying out of the line-up which faced Cameroon, when Tite used an alternative team and ended up being beaten 1-0.

The West Ham star scored last night in the 4-1 win over South Korea. Brazil are now qualified for the quarter-finals and play Croatia on Friday afternoon.

Even though there’s a big competition for Paquetá’s role next to Casemiron, with Manchester United’s Fred and Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimarães also fighting for that spot, the Hammers midfielder is doing a great job there and holding his position for now.
